Yanai Sweets Club Chez Kawamoto
Chef Kawamoto was born and raised in Yanai. He opened this sweets shop to express his gratitude to Yanai, his hometown. The sweets, made with “Kanro Soy Sauce”, “Japanese yam”, and other seasonal delicacies, are a source of local pride. Chef Kawamoto’s acclaimed creation, the “Yanai Kanro Soy Sauce Butter Cake”, is a moist, soft baked cake that combines the aroma of soy sauce-flavored butter with a gentle sweetness, and is popular with everyone from children to senior citizens. We are a confectionary shop selling our original sweets using unique local ingredients, such as Kanro Joyu (vintage soy sauce) and Jinenjo (Japanese wild yam). Many other fresh cakes using highest quality whipped cream, and Japanese sweet called "Doppo" named after Mr. Doppo Kunikida, the great novelist in modern Japan, are our popular lines.
