Yanai Nippon Bare Kaido Association
This organization works to create appealing community development utilizing local resources along the “kaido” (old highways), with a focus on two Edo-period highways that run through Yanai City. Many local assets are located along these two highways, such as the Shirakabe, Obatake and Shikami historic districts, and the former private schools Seikyo Sodo and Kokkido. The highways received the certifications of “Yume Kaido (Dream Highway) Renaissance” in 2014 and “Yanai City Regional Brands” in 2020. Yanai Nishigura
This white plastered, 1-story wooden storehouse was built as a soy sauce brewery in the late Taisho Period (around 1920's) . Many people used to call it in its nickname "Nishigura" up until 1980. In order to preserve the building as a valuable historical and cultural heritage, its facade, interior pillars and frames have been maintained as original state. Heigun-to Island Iya Beach
Why don't you visit this beautiful bathing beach located in the eastern part of Heigun-to Island? Iya-mishima (three consecutive small islands) next to the beach is one of the three greatest views of this island. People can walk to the tip of the cape at low tide. There is a ranch nearby and you can see cows grazing peacefully. Lavatories and showers are available.

Obatake Fureai Beach
This is an artificial bathing beach, 160 meters long, and very popular among people in Yanai. You can enjoy the stunning view of the Oshima Long Bridge and Yashiro Oshima Island. The beach is easily accessible from Route 188. During the Niwaka Festival from September to October, a famous portable shrine is carried into the sea from this beach. Lavatories, showers and changing rooms are available.

Hizumi Camp Site (at Otarashi-hime Hachimangu Shrine)
Hizumi Camp Site is located next to the parking lot of Otarashi-hime Hachimangu Shrine in Hizumi Ozato. People can enjoy camping in a relaxing atmosphere at this quiet camp site surrounded by mountains and forests. Twinkling stars can be clearly seen between the trees. You will be amazed by the beauty of starlight in such a complete dark night with no artificial lighting system around you. Every August, this Shrine is a main venue of Hizumi Hassaku O-odori, the biggest Bon festival dance of the city.

Aderie Hoshi Park Aqua Hill Yanai
This multi-purpose park is located on a hillside and offers a full view of Yanai to visitors. 【Aderie Hoshi Park】 Both adults and children can enjoy outdoor activities all day long as this park has various facilities such as tennis courts, a walking trail, a jogging track, a multi-purpose grass field, and a fun slide. Yanai Sports Land (Kart land)
Kart enthusiasts come all the way from outside of Yamaguchi Prefecture to enjoy this full-scale kart course, 720m long and 8-10m width. Kart drivers love in particular our 140m-long straight course. Kart rental service is available. We welcome beginners as well as advanced drivers, anyone who loves or is interested in kart racing.
