We are a farmers’ restaurant located in the “Fureai Dokoro 437”, Yanai City’s interactive facility connecting the urban and rural areas. Please enjoy more than 25 kind dishes offered in buffet style. All our dishes use fresh local products and vegetables. Our unique rice noodles and other dishes are all hand-made by local women.

Kobo Chaya (workshop and café) BASARA GAMA
Please try Yanai’s specialty “Cha-gayu” (rice porridge cooked with roasted green tea) and Udon noodles made with local spring water called “Kimmei-sui”. As our restaurant is situated next to the sweets factory of Asahi Confectionary and pottery workshop, you can enjoy these facilities before and after your meal.

We proudly introduce all the fresh fish and seafood that our restaurant chain “Jizakana-Zammai” purchase directly and everyday at Yanai Port Fish Market. We have a wide variety of seating choices, such as table & chairs, Japanese-style semi-private room, and typical Japanese banquet rooms depending on the size of your party and the purpose of use.
Yamaguchi Yanai Shokudo
Please enjoy our typical Japanese home-cooking dishes in our family friendly settings. All our various dishes are freshly cooked before served. Once you have tasted our simmered mackerel (saba-no-nitsuke), you will feel relaxed and soothed.
CHOU CHOU Yanai-ten
Our café space has a fireplace and library so that our customers can relax and enjoy our freshly baked sweets. Our special hot sandwich is filled with a lot of tasty ingredients, so it is filling enough for lunch.
Shukulevain Yanai-ten
Our fully hand-made pastries and breads are very popular in Yanai. More than 70 varieties of breads are baked in our mansonry oven. We also have a café space so that customers will be able to enjoy our freshly baked breads over a drink.
Yota garyu-Bai Plum Tree (National Nature Treasure)
Wild plum trees grow on the northern foot of Mt. Akago (Elevation: 230m) in Yota district, designated as a national nature treasure in 1933. The name “Garyu-Bai” derives from the shape of the branches which bend as if they were a dragon lying on the ground. (Ga: Lie on the ground, Ryu:a dragon, Bai: plums) The original stem died of old age, however, its branches rooted in the ground and grew into ten mature plum tees, blossoming in all their beauty every year with a pleasant scent.
Okano-Ue-Koen (Hilltop Park)
A small park located in a quiet residential area close to the town of white-walled houses. Its space is long and narrow, Cherry trees planted on both sides of the in-park sidewalks form a beautiful ‘cherry tunnel’ upon their full blossom. There is also some Japanese wisteria in the park which blossoms in May every year.
Kurokuigawa Dam Commemorative Park
Many cherry trees, azaleas and other flowers are planted in this park, which was created at the same time as the construction of the dam in the upper reaches of the Kurokuigawa River.
The elegant sight of petals floating on the surface of the water can be seen during the blooming season.
Located along the road from Kuga Interchange toward Central Yanai City, the park is also close to the flagship store of Kashinoki confectionary, so visitors can enjoy shopping for souvenirs after seeing the flowers.
